30 Apr 2003 - The day Austin looked Sick

My little Timneh Austin doesnt quite seem himself this morning. Normally he goes and eats the minute i put out his food, but instead he found the highest perch and just sat there. I watched him for about half hour, he did lift his foot and curled up as if too sleep. Very abnormal for my active Austin. So, i weighed him, he was fine, then offered a hand feeding , he took it. I put him under a heat lamp for a few hours this morning, he wanted nothing to do with it and climbed the cage to get out. Other then not eating as he normally would, and being less active, he is preening, wiggling his tail and changing his sitting areas here and there. His stools are normal. I'll watch him abit longer, and may have to scoot him over for a little check up. Perhaps he's just having an off day.......they where up till 10 pm lastnight, so mabe he's off abit.
======================== Looking back on this day, I was totally oblivous to what the next 3 weeks would bring.

30 Apr 2003 - The initial exam

Austin's appt was good. After a complete exam and stool sample, all turns out well. Nothing found. She took a blood sample and is running a complete CBC(?). I'll find out tommorrow morning if he needs any medications. But now, he's eating a bit, moving around, but still not his normal self. *I've been handfeeding him all day and keeping him warm*.
